Hello Everyone,
During the winter, I had a Home Kit compatible thermostat installed in my
house.
I continue to truly appreciate the temperature control I now enjoy via iOS
and iPad OS.
Until I installed this thermostat, I either had to turn the A/C either on or
off. The old legacy thermostats w
Looks interesting, but I don’t see how it repeats your home SSID. Definitely
worth further investigation, though. Thanks!

OK, I decided to look this up now.
Here is a quick video of the device.

Hello,
I was listening I believe to the Accidental Tech Podcast this week where it was
mentioned about travel wireless hot spots. These are designed to connect to a
hotel network and provide your home SSID and password.
I believe the vendor was TP.
I’ll look tomorrow to see if I can find the refe
Hi Brad,
That is what I had to do when I wanted to connect to a hotel network. But I
figured that had something to do with their network. Apple really ought to
make it easier to change networks, especially on the HomePod mini. They’re so
small that they’re great for travel, but having to res
Well, there were two issues. First, in the Home app, I did not see any option
for telling it to connect to a different net work. I also saw no indication
that it saw my personal hotspot. I did try the thing with my iPad, I was able
to set it up, but when I pressed play, nothing happened.
Cheers,
Hello,
I will opine here that it would be very strange if a homepod did not
connect to hotspot. I was able to connect my Echo dot to personal
hotspot so I don't see why a homepod would not be able to connect in
this manner.
One could also make their computer a wifi access point and connect

Well, I found the following. It’s old, but I’m about to try it with my iPad.
I’ll let you know if it works.

I use the USB option to connect my Mac and I don’t think my connection drops. I
successfully used my iPhone 13 once to connect Zoom, Clubhouse, and stream so
it works pretty well! I limit other traffic like Dropbox and what not to help
out though.

I don’t think it will work either, I wonder though if it would recognize a
mobile hotspot that’s a Wifi Router and not your iPhone.

My understanding is that to change the wifi network, you have to reset the
HomePod to factory settings, and start over.
That is what I had to do when I changed my home wifi network.
I’ve never tried it, but it wouldn’t surprise me if the HomePod will not
connect to your iPhone hotspot.

Hi all,
Well, I guess you can tell by now that we’re having internet issues. Lol
Joe’s post yesterday got me to thinking. Is there some way to connect a
HomePod to my iPhone’s mobile hot spot? I’ve googled it, and it looks like if
I click on the Homepod in the Home app, there should be an opt
I think I have to agree with Lenron and Joe. It ought to at least be a setting
so the user can choose how it wants the hot spot to behave.
