My reading from your last message is that you want to know why there is a cut
command in the Edit menu of Finder and yet it does not work.
This is for consistency sake, when one creates a program in MacOs, the system
provides some default menus.

A suggestion would be to refer the Mac User Guide for more help on
keyboard commands. Command x is still valid and is used to cut to the
clipboard. Command c and command option v is simply more efficient in
many cases.

is easily available. Most all standard macOS commands can be found on
the menu bar.
