ok,
i just typed rm -rf com.apple.Voiceover* in a terminal prompt and then turned
off voiceover
then hit enter.
now, all I need to do is redo some of my preferences. I especially don't like
the repeat every key pressed. it slows down my typing. g.

ok. I was afraid of that. clearing out voiceover prefs while the client is
still running can be a bit problematic. oh well, it's gotta be done anyway.

I don't think the crash has anything to do with spotlight.
It sounds like the speech synthesizer controller might have crashed
(macintalk).
I read the log as after the VO crash something was trying to check if there
were fixes for the crash and failed to be able to do the search. Perhaps being

hello all,
I have been seeing increasingly random crashes with voiceover on my old mac
system here over the last few months. It's an older whitebook using OS X Lion
(no I don't have anything newer here and couldn't afford it if I wanted to).
here are the relevant lines from console:

Hi Jonathan,
Thank you, that did it. I don't know why, but I absolutely never think to turn

I suggest turning off cursor tracking and navigating the form with VO

You should report all bugs to apple. Even if you think it is small. This way
we get all things early and they can fix them.
Are you testing an apple beta? want to discuss bugs with other testers? Then
come join a friendly, helpful, laid back community where we can squash these
bugs together,

Hi all,
I'm working with a search form on a website. I want to leave the fields that
are combo boxes with no option selected, but VO or Safari seems to insist on
selecting something. Does anyone know if there is a way to unselect an item so
that I can leave that field blank?
Thanks,
Donna

Thanks, Gary,. Your message fits with what others have said, so have decided
to tough it out with Windstream for now till I can check into some of the fixed
wireless services discussed yesterday.
Cheers,
Donna
