Dear Lisette,
I upgraded to Yosemite a few weeks ago but have not had any trouble with

Ahh, that makes sense. I opened up the drive and just saw the previous back ups

Hi,
If you only use that drive for Time Machine backups, the Time Machine process
will remove old backups on its own, ensuring you have enough room. If you do a
massive change though, it may not have the room to complete that increment of
the backup.

Is it simple to remove old time machine backups? My partition for the time
machine is only 500 gigs, and I don’t want multiple backups of my system taking
up the entire drive when the data being backed up are cumulative.
Thanks

Hi all,
would it be possible for me to update my machine to OS 10.10.1 when it comes
out? I don’t want to update to 10.10 then to 10.1 as that whole process will be
very time consuming.
Thanks

Hi all,
Since upgrading to Yosemite, my Dropbox doesn't seem to be sinking with my Mac.
I wanted to check whether I was signed in, but can't find it in the extras menu
anymore. When I try to open the app, I just get busy busy.
Where do I go to sign in on my Mac please?

My opinion is that VO access to the terminal is quite good. The terminal
session is contained in a buffer. You can scroll line by line using VO +

The other thing I wanted to mention is that there is a dropbox client for the
mac. So if you can access dropbox from your table

This was also James Craig's suggestion to me, when I asked him last
week. However, he did indicate there were still issues.
Also, when I tried to find it on iTunes, I came up empty.

I think you would need some drivers and such to make that work. My

The trick is to search for the term mini TosLink. I guess TosLink is the
fiber optic cable you would run from a DVD player to a surround sound

one that ends in a plug that is shaped like a mini headphone jack. Here

Hi, Deedra:
I'm not so sure it's an actual plus, just a reasonable work around when
you need one. But, I've not tried actually working with irssi in the
terminal in real time yet. I just came up with the approach and brewed
it up this past Monday following a disasterous week trying to use the

Once you interact with the text area you write in, it works okay. Sometimes
reviewing by word or character can cause focus to wander off, and I find things
a bit verbose for my liking, but it works well enough. Of course, I should say

Janina, that sounds like a plus there. how much of the terminal actually

work the best.

Thanks. I actually went and read the voiceover manual that was on the

Hi, Deedra -- and Hi Georgina!
Here's yet another Linux person showing up on a Mac list.
After about half a year with a Macbook Air I can't claim to be all that

because I have regular need of IRC in my work.

First, a quick correction to Phil's message: the keys to press are control and

Hello Deedra,
Well, there’s a name from the past. Welcome to the world of the Mac.
You should feel quite at home with a Mac. Devices will mounted as on a Linux

Depends on where you want to turn if off. Mac? iPhone or iPad?
On a Mac go to system preferences and on iOS go to settings.

I don't use android devices, but my understanding is that when you plug them
into a USB port, they look like hard drives. If that's the case, your Mac will
see it like a drive, and it will be very easy for you to copy data to and from
the unit.
