I have the exact same problem. And I have noticed since 4.0 upgrade that the VoiceOver voices are becoming more choppy. The letter r cuts off so quick and sometimes H sounds like A. I would much prefer some male english voices and am going to email Apple too. Hopefully they might listen. Ch
