The live broadcast of the iphone 3gs was in ogg format and the recommended this plugin for QT http://www.xiph.org/quicktime/download.html which worked just fine. From checking around it also adds support for ogg in iTunes. Just download the file and then copy the plugin to /Library/QuickTime.
