I'm using the book (mwbk) document type, but all bullets (itemize)
appear as dashes. What would be the easiest way to prevent this?

Hi,
I've got a problem that I can't imagine is unique or unsoved, but I couldn't
find an adequate solution in the archives - so could someone help?
All I'm trying to do is start writing a journal article with elsart
(starting with the elsart.lyx template). I have two authors. I want them to

.odt,
but the converted file does not look like open doc format, and if the
file is saved,

I wrote the above a few days ago, but do not seem to have triggered
any comment. There is more to it, I see. In that same menu is
the option to view as MS Word - but the file looks like html and saves
as html.

Not that this will assist your problem? I'm running the MX15 OS which is
based on Debian Jessie. Use Lyx 2.2 often and have never seen this

Adding to my previous comment. Deleted that html, made another and
Lyx created a new list of image files, this time in the html sub folder, in
addition to repeating the grafix subfolder with all the image files in it.

This problem has been fixed. A work-around from my colleague was
simple. The function with a double dash that could not be converted
to html is now displayed as an image copied from the screen.

I've tried to compile lyx a few times now. I now know the culprit is ./configure
After running it my root device becomes read-only. The first symptom is error
messages reporting /dev/null is read-only. When I reboot I can do nothing,
because now the entire root file system is read-only.

Another way, and I will admit to not having tested it,
could be to produce a PDF from the Lyx file, then convert
the PDF to Word, which can be read by Libre Office, tidied
up, then saved as an odt.
