Hello everybody,
I have been using Lyx very successfully for a long time on x86 Linux
(SuSE) and convinced others to do so, too.
Now I have an Apple PowerBook with OSX 10.4 (Tiger) for a while and
decided to work again on larger documents (up to more than 1000
pages) with LyX.
A while ago I

Or my system is somehow "broken" - how could it be that I never read
about such problems with LyX on Macs in the mailing list archive or
any other resource on the Web? Where do all the working LyX
installations "come" from ...?)

Has anyone tried running LyX (any version) under Mac OS 10.5?
Yep (1.5.2).
Any issues?
None for me.
For me too.
Except: I got an e-mail today from someone using Windows who could not
open my PDF generated from LyX by using "Preview" an
Hi,
thanx to all who made this possible.
But I - again - have a problem I had solved before (on Mac OSX 10.4.7):
All the classes have been "unavailable" for me until I moved the
LyX-1.4 folder from /users/.../Library/Application Support/ to /
users/.../Library/ --- because I had learned that
the problem seems to be TeX- rather
than LyX-related. Could you explain exactly what you do and what
the error message is?
Do you use TeX as installed by the i-Installer? Which class(es) are
missing? Have you installed these yourself or are they included in
the LyX-bundle and you have add

Dear Anders and all,
sorry for the unprecise question -- after years of reading mailing
list (but having to write questions only very few times) I still

So, you are right, I installed everything regarding TeX with the i-

I'm sorry that I misunderstoot that!

Hello world,
years ago I changed to lyx because of its stability and ability to
handle large documents (i.e. 900 pages catalogue). But since I updated
my computer from SuSE 7.0 to SuSE 7.1 with LyX 1.1.5fix1 a few weeks ago
I could not load that large document any more, because "tables < 5 are
