I just installed LyX 1.4.3-5 on windows XP, with the bundle so I
made sure to get miktek installed, etc. However, when I open a new
file with the hollywood template, I get an error message:
The document uses a missing TeX class "hollywod". LyX will not be able
to produce output

I've been trying to install LyX on my work PC (windows xp sp2).
However, when I launch it I always get this error:
LyXTextClassList::Read: no textclasses found!
I've tried the bundle install, the easy install, and the normal

The last was sent too early. What I did was:
C:\Documents and Settings\andrew\Application Data\lyx1.4.x>python "c:\program
files\LyX14\Resources\configure.py"
and then LyX came up fine. Thanks for the help.

I can use MS word, but it a pain in the neck. Openoffice is physically
unable to format in the Army way. No joke -- I even have a bug (6464) on
it at sw.openoffice.org.
Any hints for a newbie?

Yup. The standard was developed for manual typewriters, and that shows
you how many carriage returns you need between lines.
It's also, I suspect, why the paragraphs are always left-justified with
the margin:
1. This is the first paragraph.
The second line of a paragraph just wraps, and goes to
ine.
I've found linux to use spaces better, which is funny. It's funny because
UNIX types avoid spaces at all costs, because they get in the way.
