Hello,
I have some problems with my fresh installed lyx 1.5 beta 3. When I open
a dialog (open file, save file, insert image, ...) which uses
informations from filesystem (i.e. directory listing), die dialog hangs
for a while. It seems there is an timeout.

After experiencing tons of weird LaTeX errors, and reading this:

the use of scrheadings was responsible for the weird behaviour.
I rewrote the preamble and fine-combed my ERT parts, and finally all

Hi
Steve had the solution - my thanks to him obviously weren't cc'ed to the
list.
I wondered why so many code samples I saw had these comment characters hard
up against the end of every line - and now I know.

I use the SIunits package for latex to do all my units. It is a bit
cumbersome until you get the hang of it but then works great. I just
include it in the LyX preamble, here is what I use in the preamble for
siunits:

I think that its working. I have to use ERT to do it, right?
Thanks for the speedy reply.

There are some known problems with back conversion, but your problem
seems to be with how lyx2lyx is called. Are you sure the error message

You could probably create a macro for it, which would make the input

This is very helpful to me. Thanks for posting this.
One thing I did find strange is that it would only
work when the table was left justified. If I tried to
center and scale it I received an error during the

So, at least for now, I have to settle for keeping the

Hello
Attached is an example of the .lyx file and resultant pdf that show the
problems with long titles, captions and referencing to wrong pages for
Abstract, Acknowledgements, etc.
Also, I have not figured out how to add hyperref to bibliographic references
yet. Please help.
Thank you

I think the preceding sentence sums up working with LyX, LaTeX and TeX.

Hi,
You can center scaled tables by enclosing them in
\begin{center}
\end{center}
See the included example file.

Is there a way of getting code listings to continue onto another page using

If not, does the latest beta version support a multi-page float algorithm.
Thanks

What is RC2, RC1?
Lyx 1.5.0 is now at beta3 testing stage. The next testing release will
be called release candidate 1 (RC1), which is planned to be released
soon (this weekend?). There will likely to be a RC2 release before
1.5.0 is officially released.
Cheers,

Sometimes Lyx does not detect that I've changed a child document and when I
select View->update->pdf(pdflatex), it does not regenerate the pdf. The only
work around I've found is make changes that have no effect like adding blank
lines to ERT in the top level document.
Is there a better way?
