Could somebody please tell me what they use for the combination
symbol? I've used plain C(n,r) but a reviewer said they did not know
what C was. Is there something specific?
A lyx example would be nice.
TIA

Hi,
I just starting writing a paper. I embed a vector graphic in PDF format.
When exporting (or viewing) it via pdflatex, I get a pixel graphic in
the output file. I did not experience this in older versions. Maybe
something has been changed, or maybe I overlooked something, or maybe it

You can directly enter the command
\choose
in a formula to get this.

In playing around with layouts recently, I tried to make use of the
"OptionalArgs" option. If I set it to "1", then the GUI gives me the
ability to set a "Short Title", which is pretty much what I expected,
though it would be better to have this appear as "Optional Argument".
But setting the Short

Not really. Just define it somewhere and be done.

Jorge, necesitamos más información para echarte una mano. Puedes ser

You can write it in ERT within a math environment like this

This is even supported natively in LyX (as well as \choose): Simply enter
\binom (or \choose) in any math box.

Hi,
I'm working on an anthology [this book will actually be printed],
and as such there are almost as many authors as chapters.
1. How do I get the individual author's names to display in the TOC?

Hi,
I am facing two problems with blank lines:
1. How to insert a blank line where I need one.
Problem:
When a Enumeration style paragraph (for that matter, any theorem like style)
is followed by Standard style paragraph, LyX does not start a new paragraph
--- no para skip, no para indent. The l
Thanks a lot, Paul. The issue does not relate to previews etc. I have
digged myself.
The issue relates to the LyX-MikTeX interaction and warrants some
changes in LyX, I think.
If I embed Fig1.pdf and export to pdflatex, Lyx generates

Dear LyX users,
I have been trying LyX 1.5.0beta1 for some days now. I have one problem
which did not exist in 1.4.x or before with literature citations, using
external bibtex files.
If one author (or any word) is listed in more than one entry of my
literature file (a pretty normal situation), i
