Thanks for your responds. I didn't copy the mac.bind file to ~/ Library/Application Support/LyX-1.4/bind, that was the problem. I thought the installer would do this, but it didn't. When i copied all the files that where in the Console (some bind files and default.ui) from /Applications/LyX

I am surprised that Lyx can generate invalid latex output. I would have thought that it could make sure the user did not create invalid documents. For example, if I am in a section header and I insert a table then this makes no sense so why isn't the insert table menu item greyed out? The erro

You're right. LyX crashed all the time. I reinstalled LyX 1.3 and reinstalled LyX 1.4 and now LyX is installed correctly (no files in ~/ Library/Applications Support/LyX-1.4/bind,...). But LyX is still to slow. Back to LyX 1.3 :-( Thanks for helping me, Sjmielh On 12-mrt-06, at 15:33, Benn
