Hi,
have a look at Help->Extended Features section 3.8 Wrapping Text Around
Figures.
Follow these instruction and copy the Preamble (Layout->Preamble) in your
Preamble. The code in the Preamble loads the floatflt package which is
needed for this feature.

For anyone who needs to recover, On my RedHat 8.0 machine /dev/null is a
character device with major mode 1, minor mode 3 and mode a+rw - use mknod
to make a new one. On Solaris, it's a soft link to
/devices/pseudo/mm@0:null - use ln to recreate.

Found it! Section 6.5.3.2 add a conversion NoWeb -> Program. Works with
build-script in my normal path.
Now for the next problem - how do I get it to work with build-script
only in /lyx/scripts (and not adding that directory to my normal
path :-). Lyx can find listerrors, why not build-script?
I've tried to compile lyx a few times now. I now know the culprit is ./configure
After running it my root device becomes read-only. The first symptom is error
messages reporting /dev/null is read-only. When I reboot I can do nothing,
because now the entire root file system is read-only.

There is a bad bug in the configure scripts in lyx 1.2.2
which deletes /dev/null when run as root.
As a workaround, run configure as ordinary user.
To recreate /dev/null, boot f

Any idea how to get the right case in roman numbering?
I already tried roman, Roman and gives the same result.

After some trial and error I isolated the "problem" in Babel. After cheking the
documentation I discover that \pagenumbering{roman} is redefined to give only small
caps. So now my question turns into how not to get small caps when using roman page
numbering?
Thanks

Hi all,
Can someone please tell me how to insert a long dash (not a hyphen) . I

Hey all,
I stopped using lyx when I switched to gentoo, causing me to forcibly
upgrade to lyx-1.2.x . I ran into the same problem that someone else
(probably many someone else-s) recently posted about getting latex
errors when processing figures inside figure floats.

Question- why is 'label width' "senseless" in the book class?
I love the Description type, and use it often- but got a big surprise
when it became nearly useless in the Book class, which I need to use
for a document or two.
Help!

Thank you for the feedback.
Perhaps I didn't make my original question clear enough. The problem is
not in the label, but the number reference for it.
The attached document is an example of this. In the header of the last
page it reads:
1.1 Explanation of Table??
Instead I would like it to rea

Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is a good idea but...
I'm following a method from an article, but with some different starting
assumptions. What I'm considering is numbering my equaitons, but also
trying to have the number from the original article; e.g.
e=mc^2 (1, A3a)
