"Help > Tutorial > 3.2 3.2 Templates: Writing a Letter" has some
information on the use of this class.
Regards,
Liviu
seems to fix the
problem.
It would be nice if the documentation described these dependencies. I
did't find anything about it.

This may be irrelevant, but are you using the letter template shipped

I'm trying to use the standard letter layout but when I compile I get
a message saying that "\opening" is an undefined control sequence,
yet, letter.cls is installed and latex and lyx are both able to find
it. Is this a bug?
PS: I'm running LyX 1.5.2 on Vista, with MiKTeX 2.6.

Hello All,
I am pleased to annouce a Slackware Package containing a French Letter Layout
for LyX that is based on a French Lettre Class (latex)
this is a standalone package just # installpkg lyx-fr-lettre-1.tgz
and follow the REAME (just the

I tried this, and changed the Margin line to be "Static" instead of
"Right_Address_Box". It did in fact move the address to the left
within LyX, but the DVI rendering is still on the right. Would I have
to change the .cls file that Matej was talking about in order to
change the output?
Thanks,

Hello,
I would like to write some business letters using a slightly different
layout than the Letter class allows for. Basically, everything needs
to be left-aligned, and paragraphs need to be in block format, as
opposed to the sender's address and signature being right-aligned. Is
there an eas

Guenter,
Yes, I did. My problem was not using the ctrl-enter between lines so they
remained in one, send-to, paragraph.

I cannot find information in the users guide (basic or advanced) or the
reference manual (not even the tutorial!) that tells me how to define the
components of a letter.
I was sent a letter via e-mail and imported it into LyX. I selected the
"letter" document class but I cannot get the "send

As mentioned to this list before, I have created a layout and template
file for the newlfm latex package. I find the newlfm package superb
for creating your own bespoke letter layout with logo, address
information etc already canned in the letrinfo.tex configfuration
file.
However, I would like

My own letter layout is still unfinished (better: unfurbished) yet
because I don't really understand the LyX concept. I'd like to add an
item to a letter layout, like "\closing" (you know what I mean),
called "\Anlagenzahl". It should do a "\renewcommand"
