I am having real trouble with previewing the document I am working on.
Everything works fine, but running a preview consistently shows me a previous
version. The only way to fix it easily is to close and reopen the document,
then preview it.

Yes, it requires GNU Make. In 1.1.6fix1 this requirem

Bad form to answer my own query, but maybe my own debugging can save
one of the developers or another user some time...
Earlier today I wrote to report errors running `./configure
--with-extra-lib=/usr/local/lib' on lyx-1.1.6 with gcc-2.95.2 and
sparc-solaris-2.6. The explanation is that even wi

Can you try without locale set to german?

Hi,
unfortunately 1.1.6 seems to be very unreliable
when editing converted 1.1.5 documents. It crashed
very often, especially when manipulating tables. My fix was to
create a new document in 1.1.6 and transfer the old
document via cut and paste. Now it seems stable.

Compiling lyx and starting (from the src dir) works fine.
Having an older ~/.lyx/lyxrc.defaults produces in the shell:

Hi,
First of all: Thanx for your great work!
I found a bug in preference dialog using german language environment
(LANG=de_DE). Trying:

lyx crashes.

After too long in development we were finally able to release LyX
1.1.6. It won't be this long till next release (promises, promises...).
As with all of the 1.1.x versions of LyX, this release contains a lot
of new code: in particular, more than half of the changes described in
