to solve the problem, lyx menu, go to document, configuration,
bibliography, and select "bibtex" as a processor for literature.
And go!

Thank you Julien for your reply. The problem has been solved in the
meantime. The reason was after reinstalling Lyx after formatting my
computer, the bibtex didn't get refreshed, even though it didn't show in the
lyx editor. For people who will have this problem in the future, just
perform a manual

I'm using lyx 1.5.1 under Ubuntu Gutsy.
If I add a citation into the document, and then delete it when using
tracked changes, the deletions can be seen as expected (red, struck
through) but when I try to view it as a pdf I get an error:
Argument of [EMAIL PROTECTED] has an extra }
Is this a bug
Hi again
anyone has experienced such difficulties before
when setting up a new class/layout/template ?
It works all fine, except for the citation/BibTeX
(which has been working fine with other main classes: article. report.
etc.), see error message below.

Hi
I followed the step
Hi
I followed the steps indicated under :
http://wiki.lyx.org/Examples/AcmSigplan
I installed / reconfigured LyX
and can open my article in the new ACM class; fine.
The problem I encounter is when I include citations.
I run into errors; here is an example of the error messages I get
for each

No citations: I would check the temp directory (while the document was
open in LyX, after having generated a DVI or PDF or whatever), and
check whether the .aux and .bbl files exist there. If yes, maybe it's
a permissions problem(?). If no, either there's a problem with the
.bib file or BiBT

I am trying to include BibTeX references in a standard article but
failing. (Using LyX 1.3.5 on mac OSX)
I have a bib database file that I generated in BibDesk. I insert this
into my document (Insert // Lists & TOC // BibTeX Reference..) LyX
then lets me insert citations from the database
