Here's the explanation from a kdelibs developer:

Qt uses the QImageIO Plugins for rendering images. Since KDE installs
such a plugin for the EPS format, every Qt application picks that plugin
as well. Unfortuna

Yes, the problem has been fixed in KDE 4.0.1, which was released some days
ago.
So try to grab a KDE 4 update.

Well, you need to have KDE 4 installed. We had reports for various distros.

This is a known problem. The culprit is kdelibs from KDE4. The only known
workaround is to deinstall kde4libs (i.e. KDE4, for that matter).

Hi all,
I have written a document containing images in eps. Now, mysteriously,
when I try to open the same document lyx crash. I have isolated the
problem and I can recreate without problems, I create a new document,
add image, I choose a file in eps format and confirm. During the
creation of the

I can confirm that, using the 1.4.1 update coming from Extras those problems
are gone.

Yes, one temporary shortcut is to disable the display of images inside lyx.
Preferences->Graphics->Display Graphics->Do not display

Hi all
I've just tried to load my LyX thesis documents on my new FC5 system.
Scrolling down through a document that I was working on last week with
FC4, LyX crashes with a segfault. The document contains PNG images,
formulae and I think an EPSI image. I performed a reconfigure but it
still happens

Hi all,
I've installed lyx1.3.5 and tetex3.0 with texmf. When
I'm trying to open the user's manual or FAQ Lyx crashs
and in my console I found this error message:
BadValue (integer parameter out of range for
operation) id: 27263169
Any idea? Have I to install another tex package?
Thanks

Hi all,
when opening some *.lyx-files using lyx (up to version 1.3.3), lyx
crashed without any notice.
This happens, when you try to open a file located in a directory named
with "$" at the beginning (In my case, that was
"/home/tweller/Documents/$Tom/...". If you encounter the same problem,
check
