In general, it is best never to use symbols like ? / # " in filenames
because some programs treat them as protected or special characters.

Because the file handling changed, and this has been overseen. If you are
lucky 1.4.2 will not mind it anymore.

My apologies for not investigating for a longer time before I queried
the list, but I'm hyperventilating at the thought of having to

After more investigation, the figures that yield the conversion error
(below) appear to be figures that I had previously uploaded to the
submissions website of a journal. Other figures load just fine. (So
this does not seem to be a 1.3.4 vs 1.4.1 problem.) Can the process
of uploading a fig
Some line drawings (in eps format) which loaded just fine using LyX
1.3.4 now do not load in 1.4.1. In LyX 1.4.1 Insert > Graphics gives
only a graphics box that contains the (correct) name of the graphics
file I'm trying to insert and the message "Error converting to
