What I've been able to do is put a '\\' in ERT in order to break a title
up into two separate lines (or, in your case, put two titles on two
separate lines). However, both lines will have the same font, which may
not be what you want.

Although I can't offer much help, I can confirm this problem. I have
tried doing various things to get LyX to number equations (or label them),
but nothing seems to work. I've also read the page (numbering.php3). My
exact steps were:
1) Be in math editing mode.
2) Click on the bottom
