I did an "apt-cache search gv" and found that I have ghostscript. Is this a
substitute for xdvI?

The tutorial says I need a dvi viewer (e.g. xdvi) and a postscript converter
(e.g. dvips). Perhaps they have to be installed separately? I searched the
Debian packages and could not find xdvi or dvips.

Thanks to everyone for trying to help me with this problem!
I'm still trying to get this to work. I needed some mailing labels for
Christmas, so I resorted to plugging in an old hard drive that has Windows 95
and Wordperfect. (By the way, is it possible to print address labels with
Lyx?)

file talks about setting up the
/etc/printcap file, but does not mention CUPS. I tried "googling" for help
on this, but have not found anything.
Can anyone help, or point me to a document that might get me started?
