Hi,
I am using beamer to make an agenda of a workshop and one of the
presenters has this 'š' diacritical. I want the name to appear on
the PDF and the email address to be fired up when clicked
(mailto:). That works but the diacritical does not survive into
the PDF.
Any idea?

It's next to impossible, like trying to dictate into LyX.
Never mind that automatic translations, while more or less reasonable to
good, are never perfect. There is just no substitute for professional
translation.

And the result must be a LyX file? I doubt that this is possible.
You can always export to text and have that translated.

if LyX is running you can save all open buffers to disk and then quit by
way of something like (multiple levels of double quotes are required
(on the Mac due to the space in ~/Library/Application Support/Lyx-2.3))

I always have an iTerm2 window open with a number of tabs (and
different directories) and open almost every LyX file from the command
line. That makes copying and pasting the path for graphics quite easy
and as I said I haven't been using the file browser much.

Please don't argue unnecessary points, on the ARM Intel can not be
virtualized only emulated as you rightly say.
Finding an ARM Linux is an issue for itself, as is installing it,
finding a recent version of LaTeX for it and keep this all current.
Makes even less sense for this small issue, for wh
Is it LyX or LaTeX which is looking for this?

I think the point was that tectonic can be embedded. Which would be
really cool for LyX.
I kind of like if it could pull all packages required (only) if and when
needed, but that means you could only use it with an Internet
connection running. That's not always guaranteed.
But I have of course n
On 2.3.7 and Intel 13.1, I can also not use the File Browser to insert
graphics. But then I haven't inserted graphics for a while. On the
2.3.7 on an intel 12.6.2 I don't see that behavior.
The alternative proposed here makes not sense whatsoever to me,
especially on an M1. The (speed) limiting

Hal,
I use the python3 installed by the Homebrew package manager which will
remind me during my (almost) daily upgrade if the XCode Command Line
Tools are not installed to do the xcode-select, so I am used to that
(without having to pay attention to Python).

I must confess, Stefan made
/Applications/LyX.app/Contents/MacOS/lyx: Mach-O universal
binary with 2 architectures: [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit executable
x86_64] [arm64]
for me :-)-O which works like nobody's business :-)-O

After an unsuccessful launch open Systems Preferences -> Privacy &
Security and you might find a butto to allow it anyway.
You can also issue
sudo spctl --master-disable
it will ask you for your password and you must be an admin for this.
If you try again it should go through.

WHat I am seeing is that texindy is not (properly) installed. I would
figure out to which slackware package texindy belongs (probably texlive)
and reinstall that.

The developer has a M1 Mini if I am not mistaken so upgrade on Ventura
should work :-))-O.
I have no issues on Ventura nor on Monterey (on the two desktops which
don't want to upgrade to Ventura)
What is the '"create new" environment'? You mean File -> New?
Works for me.
