For anyone else interested:
From the second link, download Gnumeric (I had to ALT-click on the download
link), unrar the .dmg and place the app in your applications folder.
Now, while Gnumeric itself doesn't work on Lion, I just entered this path
/Applications/G
On Windows I use the excellent gnumeric functionality of embedding spreadsheets
in LyX documents. But gnumeric doesn't seem to be available for Mac. Is there
possibly a workaround for this? It's a really great functionality, and
something I hope will someday be featured in the default LyX instal

Is there any workaround for using octave/maxima etc. in LyX 2.0 on windows?
I read somewhere on the mail-list, that this release is not able to execute
batch-files on windows anymore.
Why would they remove this feature?
It works great in 1.6 (and for other OS in ver. 2.0 for that matt
