I would recommend you to look at the LaTeX source (View --> View
Source) in that buggy chapter too. I feel it might be due to the
encoding or language setting (are you sure it is also UTF8 and the
language setting is Chinese?)

How do I tell LyX that lists (for example; and much other stuff) is
permitted inside a Foo environment? Is there a setting or switch that
tells LyX to allow nested environments globally, or does it have to be
done on an environment by environment basis
It's a bug -- or at least undesired behavior. Don't have a fix off-hand, but if
nobody beats me to it, I'll try to find one.

I ran into a problem with nested cases (caseenv). I want to write
something like this:
Case 1: a
1. b
Case 1: c
Case 2: d
2. e
Case 2: f
where there are sub-cases in the list. The enumerated list and
sub-cases are nested in the lyx document (see attached). However, the
output I get is

All my Chapter Numbers have become blank. They are setup as Chapters, not
Chapters*.
Chapter Numbers have vanished entirely in this document. They correctly show
in LyX, but when printing or making a pdf, there are no chapter numbe

Some days before I gave a request for a portable Lyx to the

someone, who would build a portable lyx!
Have a look at http://portableapps.com/node/27981. He closes his
