I believe I removed the beamer class files (old ones)
and replaced them with the latest ones and that

1) I just installed beamer (and pgf, xcolor and some misc stuff) and I am trying
to using it with my lyx-1.3.3. Under lyx, if I compile the template
generic-ornate-15min-45min.en.lyx the output is an a4 page with slides occupying
