Pardon my ignorance... I have found this, but how do I install it to
use with Lyx? and once it's installed, how to I use it?

I think you have to use the Insert Space Buttom from the Math Panel. You can
chose from thin, medium and thick spaces, etc. Or just p

I tested with and witout specifying a converter.
