i'm using the slides style in lyx 1.2.3 and would like them
to come out in landscape. when i select Layout->Document->Paper->
Landscape it cuts off most of the slide and prints it upside down.
is there a better way todo this?

That's exactly what I experienced. In my case, the working directory is
mounted on one machine as /share/cuigl/pcshare/doc/dissertation, and on
another machine it's mounted something else. So the absolute path doesn't
work on the 2nd machine.

This would depend on whatever font you use on screen, of course, and
that's settable in Preferences.
However, I think you'll find there are very few fonts with fancy
right-side single quotes. I do know that such fonts exist, mainly
because I've used them, but I've just given up and I use Lucida
So let's hope that there will be qt-3.1.3 soon...

I know this is not a minor thing but it occurred to me that using lyx to
produce seminar slides (with prosper or any other seminar like style) is
a real pain as lyx doesn't show you where the page breaks are.

It seems that the reason you can't use extended characters (like e with
two dots over it) in prosper with lyx is that you need to load the
package called "times" (for example) before "fontenc". Apparently if you
don't do that you only get the "cmr" fonts (which don't include accents?)

That the code that moves prefs and friends to the LyX menu uses
hardcoded english strings to guess what entries should be moved.

I have a problem with the kluwer package. When I create a table in my LyX
document, the table does not appear. I export the whole file as LaTeX, and
when I compile the LaTeX document, the table does also not appear. Is there
something I miss?

texhash and I reconfigured (edit->reconfigure). But I still not seeying the new class
in the layout->document->class
