Hi!
I would like to collect chapters (of the book class) into one
document and I'm having some problems when I include *more than one*
chapter. I get errors like:
...maybe missing \item ...
...can be used only in preamble
\usepackage{babel} ...
How do you do that?
TIA
Folks,
I've been using harvard BibTeX styles, particularly b/c I like the
implementation of the \citepossesive{Smit90}, e.g 'Smith's (1990) data
shows that ...' However, I noticed that natbib is supported in LyX so I
thought I'd investigate that style package. While natbib provides many

Hi
Is there a way to make the latex code written for making up navigation bars
in seminar.sty work in lyx? I wondered if anyone tried that..

Hi,
I have a problem with *.eps.gz figures and lyx 1.2.1. Within a figure
float, I insert a *.eps.gz figure and it displays just fine. However, when
I try to view it with xdvi or gv, I get an error message like:
LaTeX Error: File /tmp/lyx./_tmp_lyx_tmpdirXX_image

Please ignore my post about this subject, upon closer inspection I
realised that nothing is wrong with LyX -- I apparently screwed
something up when cutting and pasting my \bibpunct command... If
the parameters for parentheses are empty, no wonder that none
appear in the output...
Sorry for b
Hi,
I have asked this question earlier but I didn't really get any response...
Here it is again, with more specifics:
I need to have the TOC title (TABLE OF CONTENTS) 4 inches from top of the
page. I get this, no problem. Now, on the second page of TOC, i need to have
the title continuing as
Hi,
I am happily using LyX 1.2.1, but have encountered a problem with
the integration of natbib for citations.
Since standards for citing literature are different when writing in
German, I include a \bibpunct[: ]{}{}{,}{a}{}{,~} command in the
LaTeX preamble in LyX.
Doing this, however, seems t
Hi, I have woody(debian) but I don't have 'dviprint' command. So, if I
want to print
an error message appear.
I don't know if dviprint command is deprecated in linux.
How could I configure the printer options to print from lyx 1.2.1?
What other commands could I use (dvips)?
Thanks in advanced.

I thought I read in the documentation that newer versions of LyX (I'm
using Lyx-1.2.1) recognized the -geometry command-line argument and the
Lyx*geometry entry in ./.Xdefaults. Mine seems not to, unless I've
gotten the syntax wrong. When I put
Lyx*geometry: 720x900+283-15
in .Xdefaults,
Hello,
I am a new lyx user. The program is fantastic but I have a small
problem. I want my float tables horizontally centered. However, I get
them left aligned. Have tried with \begin{center} ..\end{center} around
the float without success.
Anybody around there who knows the tricks?

Somehow... hm...

I am not sure if this is the good place to post this.
There is a problem with bullets in LyX 1.2.1 when using babel:
If I use the LyX dialog to redefine the bullets, LyX will add this kind of
commands to the preamble

Hi
In my lyx doc I'd like to be able to add up a couple of
numbers, perhaps in a table, maybe in a paragraph, get a total
and then be able to copy the result (sort of like a label)
somewhere else in the document, as a summary.
Is this possible somehow?

Là, tu risques de les faire hurler !
Hello out there,
It's now the third attempt for me to get information about a
possibility to have a command line like in emacs. E.g. when I type C-x-f
for opening a file I get the 'nice' window for opening a file via lots
of mouse clicks. Unfortunately this window is not able to complete names
