Hi: Just discovered what you folks meant by not being backward compatible.
New documents are just fine.
So, what's the workaround? How do I bring my old documents [text] into new
documents?
Thanks,
Tom

Hello: I upgraded from 1.15 to 1.20 and things have changed. I used to have
dvi preview under the file menu, and was able to preview the document.
With the upgrade, when I go to view->DVI and click, nothing happens.
When I click and watch the status bar, it calls xdvi, and seems to be ok, but
When I convert a lyx doc to pdf, nothing shows up under acroread. I'm
assuming the pdf is using type 3 fonts. Is there something I can do
about this?

Hi,

I try adapt report format, but I cant get the standart of university. I try too get

In the dvi output :(
I send in attachement a small .lyx file (in french) which produces such
an output.
Look at line 2-3 and 7-8.

Hi,
New day, new question :)
In LyX 1.2.0, you changed the quote insertion for the '« »' quote type:
it automatically makes a blank between the sign and the word (e.g. «
hello ») and that's great !
The problem is that this blank is a regular one whereas it should be a
protected blank. As a conse
I managed to get what I wanted - a sort of
margin notes that works from inside floats.
They are one line, must be used at the
beginning of a text line, and may
overlap if there's many of them. Still, they
work for me. \makebox and \raisebox with 0 size
is used so the note won't disturb the

I am having trouble with Lyx not finding installed bibtex files. I have
defined the environment variable TEXMF=/usr/share/texmf and run texhash
as superuser and the output from that in ls-R seems to make sense. But
when I run View->Tex Information there is none reported. Rescanning

this is not a real ugly hack, it's the default for latex!
And how should LyX be better than LaTeX???

Ah, you're talking about tables inside floats. That's something different.

A lot of thanks to Herbert Voss
([EMAIL PROTECTED]), the problem is now
solved.
Some hints are given below for possible use:
1. disable using temporary directories. This means that you
have to delete the temp files in the folders (if not, it may
affect the references)
2. never use an absolute p

Hi Oliver,
have a look at http://www.lyx
The epigraph package is just great! Mottos look very nice when using
this package. The way suggested by Herbert works as well.
Thanks a lot,
Daniel.

Hi
lyx 1.2.0:
It's possible to create a footnote within a table cell, however it does not
show in the final document output. Impossible in Tex or a Lyx bug? Any
workaround?
