Hi Remzi,
Have you tried:
\setlength{\headheight}{-1cm}

Herbert,
If I use \bibliographystyle{plain} in the preamble, I
get a series of errors. If I say plain in the box
"BibTex Generated References", nothing happens - the
default RevTex format persists.

Has anybody succeeded to build the latest stable release of LyX on HP-UX 11, be it
with g++ or aCC?

Hi
I am writing a paper using koma-script. I need to have the header for title
page by \titlehead start at 1.5 cm from top of the page. The regular top
margin for the paper is 2.5 cm. I tried to move it with vspace but it doesn't
work. Any idea?

Hello everybody.
I've got a new problem.
I need to insert roman characters in some formulas instead of
Italic/emphatized. I tried:
1) C-m, to activate mathed;
2) click on the button for the TeX mode;
3) \textrm{H} if I need H, for istance.
All this seems to work fine, because I can have Xdvi runn
So incompatibility and bugs are like discoveries. You only uncover them when
you are actually trying to work ;-) Thanks

Isn't frenchb the babel package with french option and french the french
package or something like that?

ok, than it's a long way to find out what's happened. If
you don't want to use ps2pdf than comment out one packag

That's true, frenchb fixes this. I don't really know the difference between
french and frenchb, so I guess I can change without problem...

Solved it by deleting all /tmp/lyx* files. Funny what works,
sometimes!

is "french" (by the way, selecti

Is it possible to use RevTex with a "nonstandard" .bst
file?
I am using RevTex (it has some nice features), but I
would like the bibliography to appear like it does in
Journal of Theoretical Biology,
ie.,
1. The references should appear in the format (Jones,
1990; Jones and Smith, 1991)
2. The

Yes, it works, thanks. Still pdflatex doesn't work
(it gives now other errors) while latex does. I'm
still investigating it.
Well, why keep
I'm using a cutomized book layout that I change quite often to add a new
fonctionality (or debug one)... and I found that it would be very convenient
to be able to reconfigure lyx from the command line
lyx -reconfigure
rather than launching it, selecting edit->reconfigure, quitting, and then

It's not really a lyx question, rather a latex one, I guess... but however,
somebody might be able to help me...
I'm beginning to write my Ph Dissertation, with a (slightly cutomized) book
layout. It's in three part, but I would like the chapters to be numbered
without getting back to one when

My thesis in finally practically finished :)
It latexes well even if there are complex settings,
but pdflatex fails. It says:
Overfull \hbox (1.98276pt too wide) in paragraph at lines 386--386
[][]
Overfull \hbox (14.02773pt too wide) in paragraph at lines 388--388
