Hey everyone,
My university has some strange format requirements, and I need to ask
for some help on one issue.
I need to have a regular table of contents, except for one thing.
Starting with the appendix, the TOC entries can't have the dotted line
or the pagenumber:
I can not seem to find IEEETran under layout>document>Class.
Moreover, if I do File>New from Template and open up the IEEETran template,
Lyx gives error.
I located IEEETran.layout under /usr/share/lyx/layouts.
Any idea what's wrong? I read the Customization (chap 6.) but that is to add

Hello, Nikolay,
No great deal, just delete (or move away) a little file called
"setup.ini", that comes with the compressed file. Then follow again the
instructions.
The problem is, for me, when I try to start LyX 1.1.6fix4. It complained
of a missing dll (namely, "cygregexp.dll", or something si

Hello recently discovered Cygwin and thought that I would like to get
lyx working on it. I have Windows XP. I Installed the latest version of
Cygwin 1.3.9. I then downloaded the win32 version of lyx and tried
running the cygwin setup as stated in the step by step guide. This
resulted in cygwin set
Alright, this is a long shot, but the only difference I can tell
between my PDF and others I have hanging around on my system is that
none of them use subsetted fonts.
Is there an option I can give somewhere to turn off font subsetting?

Greetings,
Just got through writing a 10 page doc(fanciest thing is a 8x5
table), exported it as a pdf(I believe i'm embedding the type1 font
Computer Modern.) Total size is about 150kb.

the same thing; hangs the box and the

Hello everybody.
This is my first e.mail to the LyX users ML.
Only about one month ago I installed on my "not new" PC GNU/Linux, Mandrake
8.1 Distribution.
I need LateX. So, LyX was advised to me as the fastest and simply way to
write LateX documents. In the meantime I have been reading "the tuto

I've finally managed to install html2latex, but when I reconfigure
LyX it doesn't show. Any ideas?

Has anybody experience with an image in the background of a chapter page?
I would like to illustrate the chapter pages of a book in this way. The
picture should cover the whole page and be faint, in order to allow to read
the chapter title easily. Same for Title page.

I downloaded jpg2eps. I did not find compilation instructions: can
someone kindly tell me how to do? I downloaded also a Makefile. My
platform is Linux Mandrake 8.0.
Thanks!
