Cygwin and lyx on Windows XP

Hello recently discovered Cygwin and thought that I would like to get
lyx working on it. I have Windows XP. I Installed the latest version of
Cygwin 1.3.9. I then downloaded the win32 version of lyx and tried
running the cygwin setup as stated in the step by step guide. This
resulted in cygwin setup crashing. Has anyone got lyx working with
Cygwin under windows XP?
