I have found the .eps export feature on a lot of windows based programs to be
pretty dodgy too.
Generally under windows programs I print to a postscript file and then open
the files using GSview. If often gives some errors but manages to open the
files. Then I use it to convert to .eps or re-s

Weird. I could have sworn that exam.cls is part of any standard LaTeX
distro. It has certainly been part of teTeX for at least two years.

In a book style multi-part document, how can I force "block" layout? I have a
lyx file inserted at the beginning of my thesis with centered layout. For some
reason, all the succeeding files are centered too. Selecting them and using
layout>paragraph>block won't change the style. In the applet, it

created at any latex run, because the tempdir is
deleted after the lyx-session

I was wondering If I could make a table in lyx with a diagonal crossbar for
statsitics. The table would look sort of like the following ascii table:

| 10 /| 90 /|

Hi,
I have been using Lyx since version 1.0. I am now on the latest 1.1.6fix3.
When I try to insert an index, the index button in the document is flat
looking. When I preview the document the index is not there. What am I doing
wrong? I am using Mandrake 8.0.
Thanks

Hi,
How can I make the table caption (title) in a table float left justified?
LyX always centers the title with respect to the page not the width of the
table. I already tried Layout->Paragraph without success.

Only for a word. What is the different if I want only for a word or the
whole document?
Thanks,

Hi!
I used to manage to fix the width of a table column by giving the width
and choosing the "linebreaks" option from the table layout display. This
is explained in User's guide. However, with 1.1.6fix3 I don't seem to be
able to do this anymore because I can't find "linebreaks". Can somebody

First, let me know if I should only respond to the list or also cc to you
directly. Thanks for helping.
I think the problem also has to do with the type of document that I'm using.
I use the thesis.cls from Voss' LyX tips site.

I don't know, whether this is already fixed in fix3, but the bindings in

The problem is with the symbols above the numbers used for the starred
