Weird. I could have sworn that exam.cls is part of any standard LaTeX distro. It has certainly been part of teTeX for at least two years. In any case, what you are saying is very interesting: one can use exam.cls under LyX. So what are the exact steps you took (after making it available to tex)? Mate
