Just a comment on VMWare. I've used it under Windows NT for awhile now,
just so I can have Linux at work. (I'm not doing it the other way around,
as there was no way I would have been allowed to have Linux as the primary
OS). I've found it offers a very good solution.
The speed has been fine. T

Hi!
I'm inserting a table inside a wide table float but it's not
centered. Am I missing something? Figures do come out centered in wide
figure floats though. How do I make my tables centered?
Thanks

Hello,
I am writing a paper to an IEEE Conference. I copied the latex8.sty file
under /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/base and then I ran texhash. Now I am
able to produce dvi output using the latex command in the command line.
Also, I get

OK, this works, but a minor tweak is needed:
Now, whenever I come out of the quoted environment, the next line in standard

I want about .75in on the outside edge and about 2.0" on the inside edge.
When I set the margins to get .75 on the outside, I get only about 1.25" on
the inside edge.
I staple my books together, and that consumes about 1 extra inch on the
inside.
Thanks

Hi...
Recently I've seen a few posts from people who have trouble because their
documents with embedded pictures are printing several pages on top of each
other. I came across this while cleaning out old mails from the Bugtraq list:

I wonder if this is a bug.
I am editing a document, and after I perform the spellcheck, I can not do it
again for the second time. Moreover, it gives the following error window when
I close LyX:
Error! Couldn't Delete Temporary Dir:
...
It also takes LyX sometime to terminate after that error

Hi,
From reading the manual I found that you can create multiline math
functions by pressing control-enter in the mathed box. But when I do it
it doesn't seem to work. Am I misreading the manual or is this a bug.
I'm using the version that comes with Debian SID. Its version 1.1.6fix3.
