very often, with any lyx version (included the last 1.1.5) and under kde,
lyx don't start with "segmentation fault"
when this appends, one needs to restart kde to fix the problem.
However, I couldn't start lyx from a windows/vnc console. kde was nice
(gimp ok...) but no lyx.
Is there a kde bug?
How about a slight modification to LyX so that it will open normal TeX files rather
than reporting them
as not being LyX files.

I'm writing a multipart document as outlined in section 1.4 of the Extended

Nevermind!
I downloaded 1.1.5-1. I installed it (after uninstalling 1.1.5pre1 because rpm
kept complaining that 1.1.5pre1 was newer). The text import appears to work
nicely again.

It works for me now too. Here is what I did: I changed the location
of the lyxpipe files from ~/.lyx/lyxpipe (on a remote server) to
/home/bveidt/.lyx/lyxpi
I get a compile-time error when trying to install lyx-1.1.5.
I'm using gcc 2.8.1.

Hi. I'm using version 1.1.5pre1 and trying to import text (as lines) from a
text file into a table. I've set up a table with dimensions 140 x 11.
Everytime I do the import LyX crashes (running RH 6.1 I386 on a pc).
The only time this doesn't crash is if I insert into a very small table

I'm creating a document that will be viewed full-screen using acroread. I
want to be able to export the file directly to PDF so that I can easily
preview it while it is in development. According to

command `pdflatex $$FName'
I have the following problem -- I am unable to compile lyx-1.1.5 on

Hello,
now Lyx-1.1.5 is running and its very fine, thank
you to the guys who did the fine work!!!
Concerning my thesis there is a question how to
convert Lyx-documents to ohter applications. I've
done it twice with ascii and html which works
generally fine. But when I had a look at it by
