Hi,
we are currently trying to install Lyx on our Digital Unix work-station. I had
an initial problem, then solved, plus a following one (see below). I was
suggested by [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Lars Gullik Bjxnne) to write to you for help.
Thanks for your attention.

First, thanks to everyone involved with LyX. I'm finishing up my thesis,
and regardless of the content, people have been impressed with the nice
headers. I've also had pretty good luck importing figures from a variety
of sources: gnuplot, xmgrace, xfig (had to make paths absolute in the

In my opinion, there are serious bugs in 1.1.4 with or without the
fix. So serious that 1.1.4 is unuseable. Documents that printed
perfectly in 1.0.1 look OK in 1.1.4 but they do not print correctly. The
fonts are completely screwed up in the last so many pages. I had to
uninstall 1.1.4fix and re-
I had to go back to 1.0.1. The 1.1.4fix1 patch did not resolve all the
problems with 1.1.4. I had a 28 page document that was formatted
correctly under 1.0.1. In 1.1.4, it looked fine in LyX but would not
create a correct Postscript file. Ghostview showed that the fonts and
margins were badly scre

No problems. I just did a 2 minute maintenance, and I forgot to
reenable list delivery. It should work now. Sorry

Hello,
Open Layout->Document dialog. There's an entry called float placement in
this dialog window.
In this dialog, you can try:
h -> here
t -> top
b -> bottom
p -> page
or any other combinaison like ht, htb, htp, etc...
or go to lyx users guide section 4.3.1.2 "float placement"

Hallo,
how can I reach, that a figure float is preferrably put at the bottom of a
page. With latex I can do that with [b].
Are there other possibilities, how to control the placement of figures (floats)?
Thanks,
Torsten
