Dear LyX-friends,
I think I detected a bug in lyx 1.1.2.
I´m writing a "report"-document with the standard font and 11 pt
in layout -> document.
I need to describe signals, and signals are written in capitals.
But I wanted to make the capitals smaller, as they seemed to be
bigger than the other t
Dear lyx-friends,
when I activate the button "show frame" (or similar) in the
figure window, I see a frame around this figure in lyx, but not
in xdvi and not on the printed result.
I´d like to have a frame around each figure. Do you know how to
get this?
Kind regards
Bjoern

one must know that gif & png images are compressed ones - without loss,
jpeg are also compressed ones but with some loss of quality.
by the way ps and eps don't seems to be compressed. the

Well you can print a PS image and then use ps2epsi to convert it to EPS.

What do you mean? Do you mean the "grid mode" and "point position"
functions in xfig? Every newly

What is a 'cad-like snapping function'? You could pin lines to corners
of rectangles for instance...

Hi,
I am "yet another LyX new user" writing the Phd thesis. I read your comments on
image formats... but my problems are still not solved.
I need to create EPS images (especially graphs and schemas) to be imported in
LyX; I tried:
1) xfig: it lacks of cad-like snapping function
2) killustrator
Hello Torsten
you might use apalike, which formats your citation like: (author, year)
It is just to use apalike style in your bibtex references and type \usepackage
{apalike} in your preamble.
It 's also possible to use AMS styles which format the citations by its initials
I hope it helps

What about trying some bibtex contributed packages from CTAN.
Depending on your field, you probably will find something that suits U.

I don't know if you realize it, but if you want to print a document, at
some time you have to translate it to PS (at least on UNIX)!
So what's the problem to do this earlier?

Hallo Lyxers,
I would like to include citation references in the form [AUTHOR YEAR] instead
of a number (which works fine, e.g. [BA97] instead of [3].
My bibtex file contains the information as the key.
I think, I must use another style than plain.
Which one do I have to choose?
Thanks,
Torsten
