I didn't find the error when I searched for it. In fact, I was told on that
site I linked to issue a bug report, which I did. Both mine and the other
guy's version of LyX is 2.1.3. His is Windows, and mine is Ubuntu. If the
problem doesn't exist in later versions of the program, I would suggest

In the install script, you could set up check-boxes about what the user
wants installed. Use system defaults as an option for language, thesaurus,
etc. (assuming that the system and available languages match), but let the
user decide if they want more or less installed. I realize this complicates
