No, the files are now in UTF-8.

That makes more sense anyway, since lyxrc should contain variable
assignments, not commands.

Lars, I notice that running 1.1.6 for the first time still results in
"menus.bind" being the bind file. Whilst it would be good to find the real
cause of this problem, I think that a one line fix to lib/configure is needed
for the 1.1.6 release.

You mean we should not have keyboard shortcuts for underline or
sans-serif? Did you edit a lot of LyX documentation with menu names in
them? I think such things should be available

I strongly belive that we should get rid of menus.bind, they contain
duplicate "shortcuts" for the menubar that does not work anyway. There
is one section from menus.bind that we want: the bindings for the
layout dropdown, this should be moved to a layout.bind.
Opinions?

Hello,
here is a little patch for menus.bind. It only touches the File and
Insert menus. The changes were made to try to ensure that M-e XYZ does
the same thing as M-e space XYZ . Some functions have changed, like
"M-f i" doesn't do "buffer-export ascii" anymo
tter or not.

Hello,
Yes, ensuring that the menus.bind bindings are correct would
definitely be a good thing. I think that all errors are due to a bad
maintenance.
JMarc
Hello,
this is just to suggest adding these lines to menus.bind.
\bind "M-i o f" "buffer-float-insert figure"
\bind "M-i o t" "buffer-float-insert table"
\bind "M-i o w" "buffer-float-insert wide-fig"
\bi
