I compiled and installed again. It works now very well. WOW. Great! Lyx 1.5.x is a very nice Program. I am impressed about the huge improvement. I will now be catapulted from old 1.4.3 (current Ubuntu version) to the new 1.5.0 era. Congrats. I will go and spread the word! Thanks.
