not inherit \claimname. Deleting either the .aux or .loe file may force
them to rebuilt before \claimname leaks into the main document. I hope

(and a restart of LyX from that directory), both pdflatex and DVI output

Not on my system (LyX 2.3.0, Linux Mint 18.3). If I right-click in an
ERT box, "Close Inset" (accelerator key "C") is the second item in the
context menu.
