I'm no texpert, but I don't think page break (\newpage) necessarily "stretches" the page in the sense of the problem raised on the user list. That will depend on document class and context (e.g., table of contents or title page v. generic text), won't it? So a name that conveys stretching the page contents would be as misleading as a name that did not convey that (maybe more so, given the relative frequency of stretched v. unstretched pages).
