With a new installation of 2.3rc1, LyX can't find textpos. Repeated on
another system with the same result. Reconfigure doesn't solve.
Both are Win10, fully updated texlive 2017. Lyx 2.2 loads the same file
with textpos just fine.

I've installed 2.2.2 using installer-3 on a new windows laptop. When I pull
down the menu to select an environment, the font is too small to read, and
the top of each item is cut off. Similarly, in the Preferences menu, under

I notice that the inline overlay [uncover] generates a tex capacity error
when the text selected for "editing" is already set to a smaller – but not
bigger – size. In other words, if I want text to be set in small, smaller,

Thanks, Enrico,
I appreciate your efforts here as well as your explanation. If I may make a
further request, it is to update the documentation. Prior to posting I did
read the release notes and lyx beamer documentation, and the connection

Using the windows binaries from ftp:
1. Edit->paste behaviour has changed.
2. I can't update an open pdflatex: "can't write" error.

2.8 is released. Any implications for LyX users, or any advice against
upgrading at this point?
I find that many of my older documents cannot be opened from within
1.6.2; however, if opened from a windows folder by doubleclicking, they
come up just fine with the same 1.6.2
A portable version of MikTeX is under preparation:

I'd like to have portable LyX on the same portable drive.
Cheers!
Ideally, the tool for organizing one's ideas before and during writing,
would enable the user to choose between an outline mode and a mind map
mode. Mind mapping tools such as xmind allow you to drag and drop your
various topics/concepts in order to modify their order and hierarchy on
the fly.

Attached. Incidentally, the language choice and the preamble stuff
were innocent. This file has English as the language (apparently
that's not the same as Canadian, eh?) and nothing in the preamble.

Paul,
When I open your sample file it looks fine. Interestingly, I sent Jurgen
a sam

The curlys around the 3 are causa a missing measurement error.
Document language is "Canadian" (!) and the preamble has nothing other than:

A bug?
