I'm not sure if this is a bug specific to 2.0 nor whether it is a bug in
LaTeX itself.
It appears that page numbers do not abide by the default font for the
document. I have the default font set to sans serif, but the page numbers
are appearing in serif.

Fine as well, but to me, it looks more transparent to special case the whole
conversion attempt (it's clearer what we want to do).
