Math font problems on Mac

I'm trying to track down persistent problems with screen fonts in math environments on Mac OS X. Even though the relevant .ttf fonts are installed in the standard place in the LyX/Mac bundle (LyX.app/Contents/Resources/Fonts), LyX is not consistently able to recognize these fonts and use them

preview problems with 1.3.5 on Mac OS X

Semantics of BufferView::putSelectionAt

I have been trying to fix bug 1666 (backward search doesn't work properly) and, while I see what is wrong, I am stuck with the semantics of putSelectionAt, when backwards=true. As far as I can see, the selection produced by putSelectionAt looks like cursor=pos+length, anchor=posif backwards

I didn't mean to kick off an avalanche with my mail. Before we don't have more ambiguous strings I come back to my first proposal: we use label: To:|#T and label: To:|#o and it's up to the developers to decide which should be used in .../form_preferences.fd, line 1960 and which in .../form_print.
