Hello Walter,
Which testing do you need? I'm runing Lubuntu 16.04 fine for now. I had
detected some minor errors, some of that errors was allready reported. There

So, took a few minutes to boot the live DVD of 14.04.1 on the iBook; took

Hi,
as I cannot test Mac stuff, I do have one suggestion... Get a DVD-RW disk,
they're good for at least 100 re-tries and can be found at dollar / euro /
pound shops nice and cheap. I have a couple of DVD-RW's to complement my
CD-RW's. Making toastrs with -R disks is a little silly :)

Thanks for the quick response!

I do not believe booting via USB is supported by Apple PPC firmware,
period. I don't have much experience with installing Linux on PPC
hardware, but I do know that with Mac OS you can only boot via FireWire.
Hope this helps!

Has anyone tried booting this as a USB yet?
For some reason, I am completely unable to boot it.
I have been trying various open firmware commands, but it simply cannot
boot.
I downloaded the Alpha the other day, with no success on booting.
I zsynced it today and MD5SUM'd it.
So... here is the prob
booting/installing from that?
Thanks

Hi,
there
Hi,
there was not a beta-1 release of PPC-alternate (just as there is not one
for beta-2). Once the dailies start to rebuild, please feel free to test

Greetings,
Phil mentioned in the forum that beta1 was missed. I'm not familiar
with how the release schedule works.
Does this mean testing PPC 13.04 beta 1 alternate would be a waste of time?
When installing on older (G3) hardware, I usually prefer the alternate
