I can try that if I can get an old kernel or two back on the system.
The older kernels are gone from my system

It's an early model Intel Mac mini with 1GB of RAM and Intel(R)
Core(TM)2 CPU T5600 @ 1.8
For the past 4 or 5 days Lubuntu has been freezing up on me at least
twice a day. The symptoms are that everything appears to stop working.
Even the mouse pointer won't move and I cannot switch to a console
(ctrl-alt-f1, etc).
There's usually nothing in the system log at all but this last time I

Should Audacious be able to play MIDI files out of the box or is a
little user-supplied configuration considered necessary? When I try to
load a MIDI file into Audacious, I get the following complaint when it
tries to actually play the file:

Yes, long-time users know to do that. :) I'm thinking
I notice that when a new Firefox profile is created in Saucy that it
includes a list of "Ubuntu and Free Software links" by default. That
list includes a link to Launchpad but not to the Ubuntu Forums nor to
the Lubuntu Users' mailing list archives. Launchpad is not for getting
help and there is

Blueman works in Lubuntu to find, select and connect to my bluetooth
mouse, more or less no problem. However, when I try to connect to a
headset, blueman finds it but PulseAudio Volume Control (pavucontrol)
does not find it. pavucontrol finds the USB headset but not the
bluetooth one. Somewhere

I have a USB 3G modem that Kubuntu finds automatically but Lubuntu does
not. Finding and using those kinds of modems automatically would be
very good for LTS, but I'd settle with being able to configure it
manually.
How do I use nm-connection-editor (or other tools) to set up the modem?
Can it b
