Hi folks, just to drive everyone mad the images were re-spun overnight. Test as many as you can (please mark in progress when testing so we do not duplicate our efforts). Regards, Phill. -- https://wiki.ubuntu.com/phillw -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-qa Post to : lub

none of the images have the new kernel, expect https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1227202 to still be there, as we have a workaround whilst critical bug it is not a fail on the test case (provided turning zram off works). Regards, Phill. On 26 September 2013 13:26, Lars Noodén

They are encouraged to read the release notes, even more so with test releases :) The 'emergency' fix is to turn zram off. This should hopefully land in the dailies soon after they are re-enabled for us to do a full suite of tests across all the architectures so that we can let Joe what the "state

[Lubuntu-qa] Locale set wrong in Desktop image installations

2013-09-26 Thread Lars Noodén
I've noticed that the Desktop images install the incorrect locale. If I choose English for the installation language, the installer put things (for me) in Finnish on the system. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1231520 Has anyone else doing the installation in English

Hi, I think turning zRAM off works to install Lubuntu until someone proves it does not. Of course it means that more RAM is needed compared to zRAM, but approximately the same amount of RAM that works with Lubuntu 13.04 should work with Saucy Beta 2. And I hope zRAM will work again in the final 13

This definitely seems to be a ubiquity bug. I'd suggest asking on the translators team to see if someone from there can replicate the error, in which case it is an important bug! Regards, Phill. On 26 September 2013 16:35, Lars Noodén wrote: > I've noticed that the Desktop images install the

I've also see it with chromium, now that beta-2 is completed, next time I get a false alarm, I'll add it and link it to your bug report. If others can also add such false alarms, we can bring it to the attention of the team who look after the crash reports. regards, Phill. On 23 September 2013

Thanks Phill. Off-topic, but I am now running an i386 standard upgrade test just to be sure we're not borked in that regard :^) BTW did you decide to mention in the release notes that some VIA graphics chips are borked?  I wish I could get a reply from someone at Xorg on that bug :^( Lance

Hi Lance, As you may, or may not be aware of... following on from my going into full rant mode over an issue, I resigned from most areas. Such is the price of caring and getting totally frustrated. I can ask on the bug team, but as this appears to be an upstream (x-org) issue for out-dated kit, I

A quick follow up it will be the new kernel 3.11; I'm guessing it was dropped from 3.10.6 which also messed up zram. As the new kernels come on board, they drop support for older kit. This would tie into when it got broken. Grab an A1 iso and confirm if it was running 3.10.x, in which case the
