Thanks Keith,
After seeing dmesg from Lars, I think I see why most are using the
second part (radeonfb:yada yada). radeonDRMfb is missing. I'll dig
around and try to understand why that is. I'm pretty sure we would
want radeonfb off and fb on radeondrmfb with KMS. You end up using

I'm not sure how that is done.

Keith,

this)
Could you repeat the live test two ways? Exactly the same only omit

I apologize Keith. That same question drove me nuts when I first
started. How soon we forget.

Thanks Lars. It is looking more and more like a frame buffer issue.
If you have the time to devote, you may want to remove quiet splash
from the append in yaboot and add
"drm.debug=0x4 log_buf_len=16M" so as not to have to type those every

If you want to try capturing some logs, I would remove quiet splash
Hi Str8bs,Keith, Lars, I don't want to interupt your work here, I just have
a quick question that maybe one of you can answer. I have that Imac G3
333.33 Mhz with 256mb of ram that I got going last week. The question is,
Is there a yaboot perameter that can get a live cd going? or is it just

HI Str8bs,
The installation from the Live CD (copied to a USB flash drive) went
normally. I entered a successful test case on the iso tracker web
page. I used the same boot parameters as with 13.04. That is:
live video=radeonfb:1920x1080-32@60 snd-powermac.blacklist=yes
The machine specs a
Hi Str8,
I'll give this a try with the live cd iso I downloaded yesterday. I've
already booted the live cd and it works pretty much the same as 13.04.
All the same boot parameters were needed.
I'll try a full install from there and report back what happens.

Hi Lars,
Does booting with: "Linux snd-powermac.pinkelephant=yes" get any
further before errors?
I don't have a PPC with ATI/Radeon to test, but I have some "theories."
At anyone:
Please advise the best communication forum to work through this as I
don't want to unnecessarily spam this list.

Hi,
I've taken a quick look at the disc image for the Alternate PPC installer.
