anybody know, how can I get network configuration prog from rh or
debian install. I need only this part which configure ip address,netmask,
gateway. Or may exist another tool suitable for novices to reconfigure
net.

ian, I through RH out :). Slackware good if you want to do most of
job by youself and construct not typical box from scratch. But for me
Debian is a best choice. For begginers seems RH best choice.

I think it is old floppy tape with 60/120Mb tapes. Linux support
it well, I used such tape fro backups in 1993 :)

The best way to install LILO in boot sector of linux partition and
in MBR, or if you like menus install chos in mbr.
If you run linux, you need not any other OS. therefore you need
lilo in MBR :)

try another distributions: Debian, Slackware.
I have some computers that I can not install RH or SUSE on it, but
Debian works well.
